Ten Toronto-based performing arts companies and organizations have been accepted into Stage 1 of Staging Change 2020, Metcalf’s multi-year strategic funding program in the Performing Arts. The Foundation is delighted to be working once again with the arts-focused service provider EmcArts in the delivery of this initiative.

Metcalf recognizes that the pandemic has created conditions of disorder and uncertainty, and that many arts organizations face challenges that seem insurmountable. We firmly believe that now is the time to invest in a process that will help organizations re-imagine themselves, build new adaptive muscles, and contribute to the field’s renewed future.

The 2020 cohort is comprised of organizations working in theatre, dance, and music. They are:

A tiered program, Staging Change has four levels. In Stage 1: Building Adaptive Capacity, teams from each organization will participate in ten online workshops, from November 2020 through to February 2021.
