Metcalf Story
Message From Metcalf President and CEO Sandy Houston on COVID-19
2020

This message was sent on March 13, 2020 to members of our community.

Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Partners,

I am writing to let you know how Metcalf will be responding to the challenges posed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

While none of us can know how severe or prolonged this outbreak will be, it is safe to assume it will disrupt the way all of us do our work. The last thing we want to do as a funder is further disrupt, complicate, or stress your operations or the security of your employees at such a challenging time. We recognize that not all of you will be able to complete the activities outlined within current grant agreements under the timelines originally proposed. Rest assured, we will continue to make grants and payments under all of our current commitments.

We will also be changing the way in which we do some of our work. We will not be convening group events or meetings over the next period of time nor will we be taking meetings in-person if it can be avoided. We anticipate our contact with many of you will be through telephone, email, or video conferencing.

Finally, we will continue to pay close attention to this situation and will modify and adapt our approach to the environment as warranted.

With all the best wishes,

Sandy Houston

President and CEO
