Established in 2005, the Metcalf Innovation Fellowship program provides critical thinkers with the opportunity to ask hard questions and propose solutions to systemic issues in areas which the Foundation works, namely the Performing Arts, Environment, and Inclusive Local Economies.
To date, the Foundation has supported the work of 18 Innovation Fellows. Our new page provides background information on these remarkable individuals, links to their Metcalf publications, feature videos, and additional articles by or about them.
Our Fellows have and continue to tackle a wide range of topics that illuminate Metcalf’s focus areas including the geography of poverty, precarious work, improving Toronto’s public parks, and the promise of shared charitable platforms in the arts. This body of work has challenged perceived wisdom, seeded new initiatives, and on our best days, prompted a shift in the status quo.
