Bike Month is an annual celebration of cycling in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Featuring hundreds of community events throughout the month of June — including group rides, guided bike tours, festivals, workshops, art exhibitions, and film screenings — it’s an opportunity for cyclists of all skill levels to promote and participate in the area’s vibrant bike culture.

Scarborough Cycles Basic Bicycle Maintenance Workshop: AccessPoint on Danforth

As part of TCAT’s Scarborough Cycles summer 2016 program, we are offering Basic Bicycle Maintenance Workshops. Join us for three workshops and learn how to fix and maintain your bicycle. Learn how to keep your bicycle in safe working condition. Identify potential problems before they develop into safety hazards. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bicycles. No experience necessary. Beginners are welcome!

See the schedule below for the AccessPoint on 3079 Danforth Road. Workshops will be held outside on the west side of the building.

Scarborough Cycles Hub Launch: AccessPoint on Danforth

One of TCAT’s Scarborough Cycles hubs (AccessPoint on Danforth) will be hosting a launch event open to the public on Saturday June 18, from 12pm-2:00pm. The event will feature several family-friendly bicycle activities including a bike rodeo, bike decorating, face painting, and other bike activities. There will also be cupcakes, a popcorn machine, and ribbon cutting. A group ride will depart at 2 pm to Rosetta McClain Gardens along side streets, returning to AccessPoint on Danforth at 3:30.

Scarborough Cycles Weekly Bike Repair, Do-It-Yourself Drop-In at Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre

As part of TCAT’s Scarborough Cycles summer 2016 program, we are offering DIY Bike Repair at our two bike hubs (AccessPoint on Danforth and Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre). Learn to fix and maintain your bike with the help of our friendly staff and volunteers. We can help get your bike in safe working condition.

Scarborough Cycles Bike Host Mentee Program Orientation

As part of TCAT’s Scarborough Cycles summer 2016 program, our partner CultureLink is offering a free cycling mentorship program for Convention refugees and permanent residents at our two bike hubs (AccessPoint on Danforth and Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre). Bike Host newcomer participants are from around the world, who have typically lived in Canada anywhere from a few months to 3 years. They know how to ride a bicycle, and they are able to borrow a Bike Host bike for the summer if they do not have a bicycle of their own.
